The ICETET- 2011 conference hotel is the Le Meridien lle Maurice Hotel   offering a nightly rate of $180USD for single accommodation on half boarding basis(Breakfast and Dinner included). Book early to reserve your room at the  ICETET- 2011 reservation site!

Reservation Cut-Off Date for conference rate is SEPTEMBER 25, 2011

Reservations will still be accepted at the conference rate after the Cut-Off as long as rooms remain available in the conference room block. Please book as soon as possible.

Deluxe Room
The hotel's spacious Deluxe rooms are located in the main building of the hotel and are 55m² in size. Offering views over the hotel's tropical garden, this leads to the beach and the Indian Ocean. All rooms feature a separate seating area, a king-sized double bed or two queen-sized beds. Recommended mostly for families and couples.

180 Degrees:
While named 180°, the restaurant provides visitors a 360° view of the open kitchen. The 180° restaurant and terrace offers a panoramic view of the expansive Indian Ocean. An extensive breakfast buffet is presented each morning including freshly baked croissants, plunged coffee and tropical fruit displays. The evening ambiance is accentuated with diverse flavors from Asia to Europe, with specialist chefs creating the magic of ‘à la minute’ cuisine in a centrally located open kitchen.

This outside contemporary Indian restaurant offers fine table d'hôte dining for dinner by the main pool.

Fancy a snack? La Croque serves casual poolside dining, including pizzas, salads, and sandwiches.

La Faya:
This chic restaurant combines timeless Mediterranean gastronomy with contemporary Mauritian cuisine, and features the finest wines and cocktails to complement each meal.

Shells:
Offering light salads, small plates or ‘tapas’, and grilled delicacies and set against sunlit and wave-battered sands, Shells serves elegant and intimate seafood meals.

Bois Cheri Bar:
Located opposite the lobby, Le Bois Cheri adapts itself throughout the day to serve a variety of beverages from aperitifs and nightcaps with tidbits or light snacks, accompanied by live evening Jazz or piano music.
Bay View Bar:
This social place is a centrally located floating bar, ideal for sipping an exotic cocktail and enjoying the gorgeous views of the sunset over the Indian Ocean. At night, the Bay View bar becomes the hub of the resort's night life and the place to enjoy a variety of live music and entertainment.
Dress Code Policy:
While swimming trunks, beach wear, and shorts are acceptable during the daytime around the hotel, the hotel requires guests to dress appropriately for dinner in the restaurants:

  • For Gentlemen: Long pants, closed shoes, and t-shirts with a collar or shirts.
  • For Ladies: Smart casual wear, including trousers, skirts, or dresses.

 

 

 

 Airport

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (IATA: MRU, ICAO: FIMP), previously known as Plaisance Airport or SSR Airport, is an international airport serving the island country of Mauritius. The airport is located at Plaine Magnien, near Plaisance and 45 minutes drive from the hotel. It is named after Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (1900–1985), who was the first Prime Minister of Mauritius

 Who Needs a Visa?
» All persons coming from countries which are not exempted from visa requirements - Please refer to Visa Requirement Country-wise (See below).
» All persons coming to Mauritius for purposes other than Tourism, Visit or Business need to apply for a visa/permit before undertaking any travel.
 General Visa Information
» Non-citizens travelling to Mauritius without a visa (if required) may be repatriated to their country of origin or residence at the transporting carrier's cost.
»  Any person who stays in Mauritius after the expiry of the period for which he obtained a visa or entry permit as the case may be, shall commit an offence and shall be liable for prosecution by a Court of Law.
» Non-citizens travelling to Mauritius as tourists/visitors are not allowed to engage in any gainful activities or apply for extension of visa to follow studies/training courses.
» Any person who wishes to seek employment or to engage in any gainful occupation in Mauritius will not be allowed to enter Mauritius unless he is the holder of valid residence permit and a work permit issued by the Mauritian Authorities.
» Prospective students are advised to travel to Mauritius only after their application for study/training in Mauritius has been approved.
» Non-Citizens coming to celebrate their marriage in Mauritius should comply with the requirements of Civil Status Act.
» A non-citizen coming to get married to a Mauritian should fulfill the requirements under the Civil Status Act.
»  Non-citizens coming to Mauritius for business may apply for an Occupation Permit to Passport and Immigration Officer through Board of Investment as Investor, Self-Employed and Professional.
